Going to University can be one of the most exciting and formative journeys of your life – but it also comes with its challenges. Imposter syndrome, anxiety and stress around your assignments and loneliness are all common experiences. But no one should be held back by their mental health to make the most of their time at University.

To mark this year’s University Mental Health Day on 9 March, we’re sharing some of the resources and places of support you can use throughout your time studying with us, alongside a series of workshops and events that are taking place to aid your wellbeing.

Resources

  • Academic Support workshops: Learn about studying methods which centre wellbeing in creative practice
  • Student Minds: Get free 24/7 support from the UK’s mental health charity for students; be it about how the rising cost of living is affecting you, how to tackle stress around your assignments or other ways in which student life is impacting your wellbeing and mental health.
  • Student Space: Created by Student Minds, Student Space offers resources and information on anything related to supporting your student journey, including confidential support through their text message service, webchat, phone calls or via email.
  • UAL wellbeing workshops and art therapy: At UAL, we offer regular, free workshops and art therapy events around topics such as Managing Anxiety, Imposter Syndrome, Procrastination, Coping with Bereavement and Loss, Healthy Eating and Sleep Hygiene.
  • Togetherall: All UAL students can access Togetherall, a safe place for you to share what’s on your mind and get support with your mental health and wellbeing.

Please note that Togetherall is not a crisis service. If you need help urgently, find out about available helplines and emergency support.
