Research degree by published work

To be awarded a PhD or MPhil by Published Work, candidates must submit a number of published outputs, together with an overview and critical analysis, demonstrating evidence of an original and significant contribution to knowledge (PhD) or contribution to scholarship (MPhil) within the discipline.

The work submitted should be focused, coherent and comparable in quality to a conventional PhD or MPhil thesis. It must be sufficiently extensive so as to provide convincing evidence that the research constitutes a substantial contribution to knowledge or scholarship at least equivalent to that normally demonstrated by the submission of a thesis at this level of study.
