Strategies of resistance in female performance practice and activism in the context of cognitive capitalism and new social media
Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon
The central concern of this practice-based research project is the testing of strategies in performance art to create a resistance from a feminist perspective. This resistance is aimed at the current economic and political conditions of post-Fordist production, which are characterized by an increased precarity of the workforce accompanied by a shrinking autonomous political sphere. In her performance practice, Denise Ackerl investigates how the creation of affect through online circulation and the live acting body can be used to create an agonistic space as the location for the resistance.
