A critical and practice-led investigation into curating the intersection of period film costume and contemporary fashion (1967-1975)
London College of Fashion
This practice-based research involves developing an exhibition that explores the synergistic relationship between fashion and period film costume. The exhibition will examine how period film costume can reflect contemporaneous fashion and, in turn, influence trends. I will re-evaluate the position of historical revival styles in fashion history and devise new curatorial strategies to convey this. Looking at my subject through the lens of ‘nostalgia' (Samuel et al) and ‘glamour’ (Gundle et al) will be key to developing these strategies.
