Political jewellery has the ability to communicate individual or group isolation and identity and to convert these into a method of communication to unite people of shared values, beliefs or ideals in the form of silent resistance.

Identity, gender and consciousness are central to the theme of political jewellery because explicit or implicit empowerment forms part of the strategies that can be used to convert people to/from particular movements within the politics of war and this will be my area of research.
