What is: Fashion communication?
Hywel and Honor introduce some of the groundbreaking practitioners from Central Saint Martins' fashion communication and promotion course.
From FKA Twigs to Alberta Ferretti, Urban Outfitters to Getty Images the list of clients and people rooting for Campbell is pretty outstanding.
But Addy’s work doesn’t begin and end with photography. During the final year of his Fashion Communication and Promotion degree he set up Nii Agency, (a modelling agency dedicated to representing people of colour) and Nii Journal, (an arts, culture and fashion journal). In March, Vogue described Addy as the ‘Creative Guru Changing the Way Fashion Thinks About Diversity.’ He’s making some real changes in the fashion industry from both sides of the camera.
Where You Gone Run To?
Film: Directed by Campbell Addy. Cinematography by Pabo Di Prima.
If you read interviews with Addy, he mentions creatives that have influenced him, including Buffalo Collective and photographers Malick Sidibé or Seydou Keita. You can see how they have inspired his work, but his mark on the fashion world is equally due to the network of collaborators and friends he made during the time he was studying. He’s shaping a new world together with likeminded people. We’re excited to see what comes next.
