Caroline Stevenson is Head of Cultural and Historical Studies at London College of Fashion, providing academic leadership for the Cultural and Historical Studies Department and its curriculum across the college.

Caroline is a curator and writer, working across the fields of art, design and fashion. She has produced projects and programmed events for Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art, V&A Museum, ICA, Arcade East, the Barbican, Tate Britain, Tenderbooks, Kunstverein München, Dutch Design Week and a range of temporary spaces. Her curatorial practice has been recognised through grants from Arts Council England and the British Council.

Caroline is co-founder of Modus, a curatorial and research network for transdisciplinary approaches to fashion. Hosted by Onomatopee in Eindhoven, Modus produces exhibitions, events and publications bringing together an international network of practitioners and institutions to create new thinking around fashion as a critical design practice.

Caroline publishes scholarly writing on artists and designers and writes and exhibits fiction and critical essays. She is currently working on a series of essays exploring connections between dress and language.

Caroline is a member of the Centre for Fashion Curation and co-runs the Fashion Design and Visual Arts Research Hub at London College of Fashion. She convenes the seminar series Fashion//Politics in collaboration with Parsons Paris, and regularly comments on fashion history and trends for the media.

She welcomes students for research supervision in the areas of curation, fashion practice, design history, cultural studies and art theory.
