Biography

Tony Braithwaite is a London-based printmaker and artist who works as a specialist tutor in screen printing and surface design on the BA (Hons) Illustration and Visual Media course at London College of Communication.

Tony’s first role at LCC was as a member of the technical support team, working for 16 years as the senior screen printer. This involved supporting academic staff and students in screen printing, as well as printing a range of materials for the College – many of which are still on display in the library.

In 2000 Tony became a Senior Lecturer specialising in screen printing projects and also worked as Course Director on Surface Design.

Since 2014 Tony has been a specialist tutor in screen printing and surface design on the BA (Hons) Illustration and Visual Media course. In this role he hopes to assist the course in broadening the learning and project outcomes. Tony also teaches on short courses at the College, including the  course.

As a printmaker Tony has been an artist in residence at several universities internationally, including the USA, Finland and the Netherlands.
