Simon Mansfield is the Course Leader for MA Television at London College of Communication. He is an award-winning producer and director, having made a wide variety of factual programmes and documentaries for broadcasters including the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, Discovery and National Geographic.
Simon began his career at BBC Wales before going on to launch a successful career as a freelance producer director. In 2005 he co-founded the production company Modern Television. The company built a reputation for high-quality factual and entertainment programmes, featuring onscreen talent such as Joanna Lumley, Jeremy Paxman, Terry Jones, HRH Prince Charles, Jack Dee, Adrian Edmondson and Simon’s partner in the company, Griff Rhys Jones.
With Simon as CEO and Executive Producer, Modern Television won the prestigious Fast Growth 50 award two years running, for the fastest growing media business in Wales.
Simon has filmed all over the world and worked with many famous names, but his main interest is telling great stories in creative ways.
