Lucy Brown is Associate Dean of the Screen School at London College of Communication and an award winning educator and producer with over 20 years' experience working at a national and international level in higher education and the screen industries.
She began her career at the British Film Institute, working at the film magazine Sight & Sound and in the BFI National Archive, before moving into production and then academia. She has filmed around the world for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Nickelodeon and Disney and has credits on multiple BAFTA and RTS winning programmes.
Lucy is the winner of a number of Education Awards, including for Excellence in International Engagement, Engagement with Business, Industry and the Professions and Innovation in Teaching.
She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a member of The Institute of Leadership and Management and an Executive Board member of NAHEMI (the National Association for Higher Education in the Moving Image).
She champions creative educational practice and gender equality and diversity and is the Founder and Chair of Trailblazing Women On and Off Screen. She has taught at institutions across four continents, including Hollywood Reporter's top international film schools, FAMU and Whistling Woods and is regularly invited to sit on jury panels and speak at international conferences.
She is co-author of 'The TV Studio Production Handbook' launched at the BFI in London in 2016 and to a global audience at SXSW in 2017 (I.B.Tauris/Bloomsbury).
