As Cultural and Communities Partnerships Manager at London College of Communication, Gill Henderson leads on building external partnerships and collaborations to support local community engagement, with a focus on the boroughs of Southwark and Lambeth.
To date, some of her key projects have included Where Walworth Eats, a collaboration with Southwark Council to develop an interactive guide to local food businesses, and ongoing collaborations with Dulwich Picture Gallery, such as an immersive virtual reality installation for the Painting Norway: Harald Sohlberg exhibition.
Gill also contributes to wider projects and strategies across the University around community engagement, placemaking, knowledge exchange, and policies and initiatives for the creative economy.
Prior to joining LCC in 2015, Gill developed extensive experience in the cultural industries, focusing on initiatives which involved enhancing creative access for under-represented groups, widening participation across arts audiences, and liaising with local government on redevelopment and placemaking projects.
With expertise in film programming and events curation, Gill has led a number of organisations including Broadway Cinema in Nottingham, Birmingham International Film and Television Festival, FACT in Liverpool, London Film and Video Development Agency and Create KX. She has also worked at the British Council, House of Illustration and Central St Martins, UAL.
