MA Applied Imagination Festival 2018

Thursday 6 December, 12–7pm | Central Saint Martins

Central Saint Martins is proud to showcase the work of our MA Applied Imagination in the Creative Industries students.

What is Applied Imagination?

Applied Imagination is the use of design thinking, reflective practice and action research to solve problems in the real world. Our students are change-makers and this event celebrates their agency and achievements.

From using creativity and identity to encourage environmental practices to Elon Musk-themed immersive club nights, this event showcases over 40 unique creative projects. Come and experience the fearless energy of our Masters students, who have seized the opportunity to engage with complex issues – with exciting and sometimes unpredictable outcomes.

Take a look at some of the research questions our MA Applied Imagination in the Creative Industries students have been investigating:

  • How can art criticism connect architecture and trauma? (Maria Gardino)
  • How can creative communication encourage a sense of legacy, identity and safety in public spaces to improve women’s wellbeing? (Andrea Tabereno)
  • How can skateboard culture empower young refugees, at the same time raising awareness about inclusion within society? (Federico Casu)
  • How can product identity increase awareness of environmental issues such as upcycling in a wasteful society? (‘Sunny’ Sheng-Hsien Yang)
