Biography

I am a PhD design researcher and design practitioner exploring a sustainable future for design, particularly in packaging and product design. My PhD focuses on design for owner–object detachment through care practice, for object longevity and environmental benefit. My research interests include design for behaviour change; research method and tools for users in different contexts; participatory design methodologies. My PhD work has been presented at major design conferences, and research published in a scholarly journal. I speak at international design conferences, and also act as a reviewer for submissions to The Design Journal.

I have previously taught as a visiting lecturer in Innovation Engineering Design at the RCA.

After my MA in Communication Design at Kingston University, I worked as a 3D packaging designer at various branding and packaging design firms in London, led many industry projects and brought ideas to market. I have also worked as a product designer and researcher at Samsung Design Europe in London and I am a recipient of packaging design prizes through ICI Dulux awards and Toshiba Revolution Design Competition.
