Person Type
Paul Sayers

I graduated from The Central School of Art and Design in 1983. I entered product design consultancy, beginning with staff and freelance design with the Terence Conran Associates, IDEO, FitchRS and Allied International design studios. I established my own studio, Drum Design in 1989 with my own clients and in collaboration with other studios including FitchRS and Tangerine.

I was a regular visiting tutor from 1986 to 1999 at Ravensbourne School and Hertfordshire University and now lead Stage 3 of Product Design at Central Saint Martins. During a period in the mid to late 1980s, I began to explore the creative connections between design and painting, expressing this through drawing and oil on canvas works.

I have had a number of exhibitions at The Barbican Centre - London EC2,  Insead Gallery - Fontainebleau and the Royal Air Force Museum - London, as well numerous group shows. I continue to offer design expertise for clients mainly in the furniture and lighting sectors and more recently interior spaces.
