I lead the Communities and Collaboration unit for MA Cities at Central Saint Martins, and am also a Lecturer at the Bartlett School of Planning. I completed a PhD in Planning Studies at the Bartlett School of Planning UCL in 2017, investigating mutual housing models in London and their governance.
Alongside my teaching work, I continue to research formal and informal practices of regeneration and collective housing and advocate for wider public involvement on planning, urban design, housing and governance issues.
As part of this wider research and practice, I've been working in Ulan Baatar on community-led transport systems for ger districts and on People's Plans in London. In my work I bounce between London, Rome, India, Cuba, Chile, and Nepal on projects at different scales, from international development to local regeneration, supporting activists and within local government.
I am co-author of Community-Led Regeneration (with Pablo Sendra, UCL Press, 2020), and was a founding partner of the architecture and planning practice Variant Office, leading on projects with communities between 2014 and 2018.
