Biography

I was born and brought up in London. I practiced as an architect and urban planner for 20 years or so, and published three books on the subject, before turning to teaching. For eight years I ran the BSc Architecture course at the University of East London and for another three the multi-disciplinary BA Arts and Design course at Central Saint Martins. I’ve also done a lot of guest lecturing, and am very happy to be a part-time teacher with BA Culture Criticism and Curation.

My main activity at the moment is drama. Since 1980 I have acted regularly in both the amateur and professional theatre in Britain and France, have directed 16 shows, including Beckett, Brecht and Shakespeare, and have written three plays, all performed in London. I’m presently working at the Shakespeare Institute in Stratford-upon-Avon on an MA Dissertation about ‘Shakespeare in Palestine’.
