I run a responsive space called b.Dewitt gallery which works alongside and in conversation with artists whose practice engages with social and political considerations. Through supporting artistic practice we aim to raise the international profile and networks of the artists that we work with, acting as (an) agency, curatorial body, and gallerist conducting temporary exhibitions and contextual programmes in borrowed locations.
Graduating from the MRes Art: Theory and Philosophy course in 2016, the course provided me with a space to critically engage both in, and with, my identity and social position. Upon completing the course, I have applied the personal nature and themes around my final dissertation to develop a space that is both authentic in its practice as well as discursive in its thematics.
