Hollyport Capital Prize

The company's support includes the Hollyport Capital Prize, which is awarded to two second year BA Fine Art students each year. Drawn from a shortlist of nominees at an exhibition in the Spring Term, the winner and runner up are announced by Hollyport Capital representatives at a special award ceremony at the Degree Show One Art Private View in May.

The winners receive a cash prize to contribute to the costs of their degree show the following year, ensuring that their creativity is not bound by financial constraints.

Winner of the Hollyport Capital Prize 2018 is Sara Gulamali and the runner up is Daisy Morey.

“The students we meet are ambitious and use innovative ideas in their work, and we enjoy seeing them at this critical time in their learning to have a rare insight into the creative process behind their pieces. We aim for our prize to give them the scope and confidence to take their practice to the next level, with the hope that they will go on to enjoy the success of their peers and inspire the next generation of artists."

Hollyport Capital’s sponsorship is incredibly important as it offers our students the opportunity to develop ambitious plans in the lead up to their degree show.

Just as importantly, perhaps, receiving the prize at this pivotal moment in the students’ development gives them confidence to grow as artists as they prepare to leave the the university environment and the exciting challenges of the art world. ”
