Exhibition celebrating the life and work of artist Isabella Pitisci.

Isabella Pitisci was an artist with a unique sensibility and a graduate of the BA Photography course at Camberwell College of Arts, who sadly passed away in 2013.
Organised with the assistance of her family, friends and colleagues, Camberwell Space Projects hosted an exhibition celebrating her work.
Informed by her interest in writing, performance, video and photography, Isabella developed a practice at Camberwell that was experimental and perceptive, and that touched upon very personal themes.
She became increasingly interested in working with found archive material - from photographic slides discarded in skips by the side of the road to developing projects in conjunction with missing persons organisations using photographic portraits.
Her interest in bridging the gap between personal and broader social and political concerns continued to emerge in subsequent work after college as she made her way as a teacher and artist, participating in exhibitions, commissions and residencies. This exhibition focused on the extensive body of work she made as an undergraduate at Camberwell.
As part of the exhibition current photography students at Camberwell responded to the generous gift from Isabella’s estate of over 100 books to Camberwell College of Arts library by making new work in response to titles in the collection.
The exhibition marked the launch of a new website housing Isabella’s creative output. The content is generated from her personal archives and writing, and will continue to grow as new work is discovered. The website is a project devised by Phoebe Hill and Connor FitzPatrick (University of Brighton).
