Dr. Hena Ali is a Senior Lecturer on BA Graphic Design, Camberwell College of Arts, UAL. She is a UK based designer, researcher, academic, innovator and journal reviewer.
Ali is also an Associate lecturer on the MA Service Design, London College of Communication, MA/MSc dissertation supervisor at the Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Loughborough University London, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy & the Royal Society of Arts, London. She holds a practice-led doctorate in ‘Graphic Communication Design for Sustainable Social Innovation’ from Central Saints Martins.
Her research and practice spans graphic communication design, communication for sustainability, service design innovation and collaborative design. Her expertise is in designing customised programmes and interventions for contextual sensemaking and sustainable innovation in diverse contexts. She engages visual communication design practice as a primary tool to create social impact.
Ali is the first to hold a practice-led doctorate in graphic communication design in Pakistan and is also the first Pakistani doctoral graduate in the history of Central Saint Martins.
In her professional practice, she is the principal innovation consultant at InfoBridge Global Ltd - a design innovation and training tech organisation with a local and international clientele.
She is an experienced leadership panel expert and keynotes speaker for organisations such as Higher Education Academy, UK, British Council UK/Pakistan and Common Purpose UK. Ali has published in high impact journals and has presented at international conferences.
