Student, Jess Barton, was selected to work alongside Sam Winston to create ‘Birth-day’, a large-scale artwork showcased at the Southbank Centre’s ‘Festival of Death’.
‘Birth-day’ began as an attempt to draw a circle for every birth and death occurring in any 12 hour period worldwide. It evolved into an interactive piece that allowed Southbank visitors to contribute their own circle and share memories of the person it represented.
