LCF Students in WOW Awards this September

Three LCF final year students have reached the finals of the World of WearableArt competition taking place in New Zealand later this month.

Hana Amer, BA (Hons) Costume for Performance, Suzi BattersbyBA (Hons) 3D Effects for Performance and Fashion, Scout Isensee, BA (Hons) Costume for Performance, and Verity Pitt, BA (Hons) Hair, Make Up and Prosthetics for Performance have made it to the finals. Hana, Suzi and Scout will visit New Zealand for the award ceremony and are to be given an exclusive, backstage tour of the world famous WETA Workshop, where visual effects for films such as Lord of the Rings and Elysium have been created.

Working to a brief to create costumes for strange and surreal characters who meet in a world without time, the selection panel were impressed with the students’ very high standard of work, interesting concepts and clever use of materials.

They will be competing against 155 other international designers –  from countries including India, France, China, Canada, South Africa, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and the United States – for 39 prizes worth $165,000.
