LCF students and alumni are among just 42 finalists at the ITS fashion awards 2014. The candidates have been shortlisted from over 13,000 applicants and winners will be announced 12-13 July in Trieste, Italy.

This year’s finalists include Annie Berner BA (Hons) Fashion Jewellery, in the jewellery category, in the Accessories category, from MA Fashion Artefact: Ian Waller, Daniel Ramos Obregon and Mirja Pitkaart, and from MA Fashion Footwear, Carolin Hulzhuber and in the Art Category is MA Fashion Artefact student Youmeng Liu.

The competition is set to be a fierce one, as both Ian Waller and Mirja Pitkaart were snapped up to work for Louis Vuitton in Paris within a month of their MA exhibition at Victoria House Basement in February 2014.

The theme this year is “Lucid Dreams”. In the past, LCF students have flourished at the awards. Last year, four were victorious including Lili Colley, BA (Hons) Fashion Jewellery, who was awarded the Swarovski Talent Award for Jewellery of €10,000 and a 6 month internship.

LCF students have been a huge success at the awards over the years, winning in various categories in the past five years, so the huge number of LCF finalists in the competition shows continued achievement for the college for the sixth year in a row.
