Manish Bansal, alumnus MA Fashion Design Technology: Menswear, at Pitti Immagine Uomo 2013
MA Menswear alumnus, Manish Bansal, proved his status as a design talent with a stand at this year’s Pitti Immagine Uomo.
Manish, who graduated from MA Fashion Design Technology: Menswear in 2012, promoted his SS14 collection to the 30,000 buyers, designers and journalists who attended the leading fashion exhibition.
Manish’s designs, which unite Indian textile heritage with classic British tailoring to create a contemporary new style, debuted as ‘I am Paisley’ at Pitti Uomo.
Manish and his team collaborated with Sahil & Sarthik, a design studio from Delhi who loaned the young designer their Marwari collection hangers and Abundance lotus flower centre piece.
Manish spoke of the success at his stand:
“The first two days were busy, we generated interest in bloggers and press from Japan to Netherlands. The collection was a hit with buyers from the far-east and there was local interest as well from the state of Bologna.”
The young designer added:
“For a young label like us, it was definitely a step in the right direction.”
