Laura Apsit Livens, BA (Hons) Cordwainers Accessories 2011, recently opened her very own shop in Mayfair.

Selling couture millinery pieces and offering bespoke consultations, the showroom builds on Laura’s success as a milliner to star clients including Paloma Faith, Rita Ora, Jessie J and the Duchess of Westminster.

Laura spoke about the opening of the showroom:

“It’s been a lot of hard work and late nights, but I am ecstatic with the finished result.”

Whilst at LCF, Laura worked with milliner Philip Treacy as well as Valentino, Givenchy, Armani Privé and Alexander McQueen.

Laura’s work marries heritage couture techniques with modern style, in a design statement which calls for the traditions of millinery couture not to be forgotten. Each piece is hand blocked and individually hand stitched without the use of machinery.

Recently, Laura worked with LCF alumnus Lorenzo Cisi, MA Fashion Media Production 2014, to create ‘Blue Epoch’, a beguiling short to showcase her latest collection.
