The Graduate School Festival 2014: Fashion means business

The LCF Graduate School Festival kicked off on March 10th with a host of industry speakers bringing their fashion business knowledge to LCF’s post-graduate and MA students.

The Graduate School Festival is a week-long series of events focused on employability and enterprise to help prepare each post-graduate and MA student in finding their career after their course or launching their own business.

Workshops on strategic marketing and branding took place on the first day of the festival, led by experts from industry. Students also had the chance to learn from UAL’s ‘Own It’ team, who presented the need to know legal information on owning your creative ideas.

Coming up over the week will be presentations, workshops and panels from fashion business experts such as the Centre for Fashion Enterprise and the Centre for Sustainable Fashion, as well as enterprising LCF alumni. Post-graduate and MA students will also hear from leading brands such as Condé Naste, Net-a-porter, and New Look on what they look for when recruiting for design, strategic and marketing positions.
