Design // Twin alumni duo founders of ethical fashion label Finchittida Finch

09

Twin design duo Tida and Lisa Finch are founders of ethical fashion label Finchittida Finch. Half Lao and half English, their unique and eclectic heritage inspires the philosophy and aesthetic.

Both alumni of the University of the Arts London, Lisa studied BA (Hons) Graphic and Media Design at LCC, whilst Tida graduated from Chelsea College of Art & Design with a degree in Textile Design. The twins joined forces to launch Finchittida Finch in 2012.

Worn by the likes of Lianne La Havas, Rita Ora and A*M*E , the identical twins have a very distinctive style, fusing traditional Lao motifs with British eccentricity to create statement pieces.

Shortlisted for the New Business award at the Creative Enterprise Awards 2013, they are passionate about design, the people they work with and the processes involved.

The twins design and make all their products themselves at their studio in London, working with small and local businesses to source materials within the UK. They even screen-print all their packaging by hand at their local print studio in Peckham.

It is very important to the girls that their brand be as ethical and sustainable as possible. Their mission is to support communities in the UK, Laos & worldwide, and are currently working on ways to support their local community in South-East London.

The successful duo have already worked with Burberry, Nike, Bora Aksu, It’s Nice That, Underground Shoes, WAH nails and the RSA.

In addition to their website, you can find Finchittida Finch products stocked at ASOS, Nylon (USA), Culture Label, Luna & Curious, Kim West, and Lois.

Finchittida Finch are hosting a Pop-up night in Lois Boutique Peckham, Friday 13 December 6-9pm.
