On Wednesday 11th of December, LCF’s COLLEGE SHOP returned for the third year running to sell limited edition pieces by talented LCF designers.

COLLEGE SHOP, a one week pop-up in central London, brings the best of emerging talent to Carnaby. Styled by Nova Dando, the bold shop windows won’t fail to let you know that something exciting is going on inside 19 Fouberts Place.

On the opening day celebrations stylist, Nova, spoke about working on the pop-up:

“It’s been a fun project that has really evolved. It’s been great to work with LCF.”

Nova’s assitant, Felicity Gransden, graduated from BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear this year and is selling pieces from across three different collections in the shop. Felicity said:

“It’s great to get the pieces out there and see if there’s somebody interested in buying them. That’s such a good feeling; when somebody wants your piece.”

Nova and Felicity’s picks are womenswear by Valentina La Porta, BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear 2013, and the devore shirt dress by Hannah Gant, BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear 2012.

Alumni, Alexis Housden, BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Menswear 2013 and winner of The Collection of the Year Award at LCF’s Runway Show 2013, and Olivia Howick, BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Surface Textiles 2013, popped in to check out the shop floor.

Olivia said: “COLLEGE SHOP is a great platform. It’s not easy to get somewhere in central London to sell your pieces when you’ve just graduated. I think it’s really important to be able to sell your pieces in the physical space.”

Alexis and Olivia told LCFNews their picks: Camilla Elphick‘s (BA (Hons) Cordwainers Footwear: Product Design and Innnovation 2013) incredible PEZ shoes and Katie Witham‘s (BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Surface Textiles) colourful knitwear.

Pop down to 19 Fouberts Place, just off Carnaby Street, to show your support for an emerging designer by treating yourself to something rather special.
