Chelsea College of Art and Design MA Fine Art graduate Charlotte Jonerheim has been appointed the second artist in residence for the Gate Theatre. Supported by the Chelsea Arts Club Trust and CHELSEA space, Charlotte has been commissioned to make a new work for the Theatre’s foyer to respond to their current production ‘Dances of Death’ by Strindberg.
Charlotte has made a wonderfully dramatic installation with colour, objects and text, which can be viewed before the play opens or by appointment until Saturday 6th July. Read more and if needed email info@chelseaspace.org for extra information.
Gate Curate is a new and unique collaboration between the Gate Theatre, CHELSEA spaceand Chelsea Arts Club Trust. Together, the partners will appoint an Artist in Residence for each of the theatre’s five productions annually. These emerging visual artists will be commissioned to create a foyer installation at the Gate Theatre that is a bold, surprising and exciting response to the work on stage.
