Congratulations to Camberwell College of Arts MA Printmaking graduate Trevor Abbott who has been awarded the Jealous Prize 2013/14.

“Born in Leeds, and currently living and working in London, Trevor Abbott undertook a BA in Fine Art at Wimbledon College of Arts. Trevor completed an MA in Printmaking from Camberwell College of Arts, graduating in 2013. Trevor’s winning print develops further one of the main themes of his MA exhibition at Camberwell, in that we all now seem to be automatic or post-tourists converting or reducing the world to a mass of redundant ‘technical’ images.”

The Jealous Prize is awarded to one MA Graduate from each of the major London art colleges. This year the graduates have heralded from The Royal Academy, The Royal College of Art, Camberwell, The Slade, Chelsea, Wimbledon and Goldsmiths.

Following the official launch of the Jealous Prize Winners prints at Art14 (27 February – 2 March), the current winning 2014 prints and a selection of past winners are now on show in the Artist Editions and Print Gallery space at the Saatchi Gallery and will be on display until 30th March. All of the prints in the exhibition are currently listed online at http://www.saatchigallery.com/

The print portfolio will then be entered into the V&A permanent print collection.

The full list of Jealous Prize Winners 2013/14 are:

Teo Ormond Skeaping (Slade School of Art), Olivia Kemp (Wimbledon School of Arts), Sean Penlington (Chelsea College of Arts), Nicola Thomas (Royal College of Art), Charlie Billingham (Royal Academy of Art), Hwa Seon Yang (Central Saint Martins), Trevor Abbott (Camberwell College of Arts), Mitra Saboury (Goldsmiths).
