The latest issue (July 2014) of the British Journal of Photography devotes it’s ‘Projects’ section of the magazine to student photographers, praising the talent and diversity of this year’s crop of graduates.
Camberwell College of Arts BA Photography graduates Benjamin Whitley and Emma Gruner, who both graduated this year, are among those included in the section.
Benjamin, who comes from a family of artists, and has already been featured in the Telegraph and vogue.co.uk, is described by the British Journal of Photography as having “…a sophisticated approach that he applies to fashion film and photography, and the juncture at which it meets art.”

Emma Gruner is originally from France and featured in our Camberwell Blog GRADCHAT in the lead up to the Undergraduate Summer Show 2014. Emma’s provocative self-portraits explore femininity and the male gaze.

Also featured are former students of the CCW Foundation Diploma in Art and Design course at Camberwell, Lewis Chaplin and Alex F. Webb, founders of publisher Fourteen-Nineteen. On completion of the Foundation Diploma course Lewis went onto study Anthropology at Goldsmiths and Alex went to the University of Brighton to study Photography. Their final year projects explore the remote British island of Tristan da Cunha and alien life.
