150 University of the Arts London (UAL) friends gathered at London College of Communication (LCC) on 8 December for the Benefactors’ Reception, UAL’s annual celebration to thank all its philanthropic supporters. UAL Vice-Chancellor, Nigel Carrington, thanked all donors for their generosity and also took the opportunity to talk about the plans to redevelop LCC (which was hosting this special event for the first time) and the surrounding Elephant and Castle area.
This evening is always a great opportunity for scholarship recipients to personally thank those that have supported their education through scholarships and bursaries and update them on their work and experiences so far. The audience heard from three current students (Hannah Beattie (MA Stationers Foundation Scholar) David Vinall (MA Frank Bowling Scholar) and Ambrin Howell (Swarovski Foundation Scholarship Scholar)) who were happy to talk about how such support has changed their life.
