UAL’s Portfolio platform was recently shortlisted in Websites: Best User Experience at the 9th Annual Lovie Awards, which selects the “best and brightest” of the European internet.
Portfolio enables UAL’s 20,000 strong student body as well as recent graduates to connect, share their work and collaborate across all subject disciplines, from art and design and fashion to performance, business, architecture, science and communication. UAL was shortlisted in the same category as the brands KLM and Diesel.
Earlier this year, Portfolio was recognised with an Honour in the category Websites: Best User Experience at the 2019 international Webby Awards, which recognises excellence from across the global internet.
Kelly Harrison, Head of Online Services at UAL:
We are really proud that Portfolio has been shortlisted in Websites: Best User Experience at the 9th Lovie Awards. This success is down to the hard work of the Digital and IT teams in delivering a great new digital channel through UAL's Online Estate Services Programme.
Student involvement at all stages of this project meant we created a channel that is eye-catching and most importantly easy to use – something students told us they wanted from the site. UAL students can create accounts, upload their work, connect with fellow students and experience Portfolio from the day they start with us and up to 2 years after they graduate.
I hope our students continue to use the site and share their feedback with us so we can continue to develop and improve Portfolio.”
Out of the sites, videos, apps, ads and social works that were submitted this year from over 33 countries across Europe, only 17% made it on to the shortlists. Winners are decided by by internet users in a people’s vote.
