Our second Graduate Spotlight features Sophia Baboolal from MA Fashion and Film.

What and where did you study prior to your MA at LCF?

I studied Visual Arts at the University of Victoria in Victoria, B.C, Canada, focusing primarily on drawing, photography and video.

Did you undertake any internships whilst studying? And if so how do you feel about them?

Yes, I found an internship through an agency in London that works with a number of fashion photographers. They introduced me to the photographer Sandra Freij and I have been assisting her on shoots for Harrods as well as Union Magazine and Grazia Magazine. During my internship I have also created a few fashion videos that have been featured on these magazines’ websites.

What are your future plans?

My future plans are to continue to explore my creativity through photography, videography and art. I believe that gaining experience in the industry as well as networking is just as important. My aim is to constantly be creating or finding projects. At the moment I am on the search for studio space that will allow me to create the various amounts of work that I want to do.
