Artefact 3 – MODE METONYM by Kate Langrish-Smith

Kate Langrish-Smith is from the UK and studied MA Fashion Artefact.

What inspires you?

I am inspired by the body and movement, and the perception of the tangible, in relation to how objects and situations are reacted to and navigated in a given space.

What would be your ideal role?

My ideal role would be either working as an artist/designer on commission lead projects or residencies within different companies/organisation/institutions. Or working as an artistic adviser on various projects for a larger company, or indeed pursuing all of the above through collaboration with other like minded and creative individuals.

What advice would you give someone wanting to study at postgraduate level at LCF?

Think carefully about the relevance of the course in connection to your personal practice, also research who is running your course and the relevance of them and their practice to your own. Also showtime is a great tool for seeing who has graduated and for looking at the quality of work coming out if the course you might be applying to.
