To coincide with LCC’s new exhibition, Life on the Road, which features photographer Tom Hunter and celebrates the festival spirit of travelling communities in the 1990’s, we have a signed copy of Tom’s new book Le Crowbar published by Here Press and a copy of Dave Fawcetts book of travelling vehicles to giveaway to the Instagrammer who can best capture the essence of the show.
To win we want you to connect with @LCCLondon on Instagram and share images of yours which encapsulate the theme ‘Life on the Road’ or best capture the festival spirit that’s celebrated in the exhibition which is part of LCC Green Week.
For inspiration you can check out the images chosen by Vice Magazine, Dazed Digital and It’s Nice That in their previews of the upcoming show. But basically anything that makes us yearn for a summer road trip is the way to go.
You should tag your pictures with the hashtag #LeCrowbar and #LCCGreenWeek. You can enter as many times as you like and pictures can be recent or from the past. But they MUST be your own work!
We’ll repost (if you let us) some of our favourites on Instagram and Facebook during the competition and show.
The best picture will be chosen by Life on the Road exhibiting artists Tom Hunter, Dave Fawcett and Andrew Gaston before Tom Hunter’s professorial platform on 12 February, which the winner will also be invited to attend.
Best of luck!
Life on the Road is a Photography and the Archive Research Centre (PARC) project, made in partnership with London College of Communication as part of Green Week, 2014. The project demonstrates PARC’s on-going interest in contemporary archives and the counterculture and follows on from its recent work with the archives of Daniel Meadows, Stuart Griffiths and Marjolaine Ryley. The exhibition arose out of a collaboration between two UAL Professors, Val Williams and Tom Hunter, has been co-curated by them and organised by Robin Silas Christian.
