Camberwell College of Arts MA Fine Art Digital course is unique in having students based in both London and online living anywhere in the world. After ten years of hugely successful delivery in this unusual way we are now enhancing the model with a ‘Low Residency‘ two-week intensive time in London for all students to attend if they choose. A Low Residency Masters in Fine Art has a long and successful tradition in North America but our offer is a first for the UK. With a simple and highly effective way of building a ‘community of practice‘ for both London and online based students, adding the Low Residency element provides an exciting and challenging strand.
The first Low Residency at Camberwell took place recently with a packed programme of discussion, lectures, visits and workshops for all those who took part. Jonathan Kearney, course director for MA Fine Art Digital, kept a blog of what happened on each day of the Low Residency which you can read here: MA Fine Art Digital Low Residency
In conclusion, Jonathan says:
“This whole Low Residency was a first in more ways than one, it was exhausting and exciting. We now need to reflect, evaluate and get feedback on how it went and how to improve it for the future. However, the initial feeling is that it has been the rich, diverse and challenging learning experience that was envisioned, thanks to all the people who have contributed and particular thanks to the students for engaging so energetically!”
