Congratulations to the group of Camberwell College of Arts MA Illustration students who won the Converse mural competition this weekend, competing against a group of Wimbledon College of Arts students. They had two full days to complete the mural as part of a promotional campaign for Converse. The Camberwell students involved were:
Jordana said ”The brief was ‘Colour Clash’ and we decided to represent it as a collision (clash) of a hug brightening and cheering up a dull city. We won £1000 to be shared between the team members. Dazed and Confused Magazine will be covering the process in a couple of weeks.”
To celebrate the Spring 2014 version of their All Star Chuck ’70, Converse launched a promotional campaign in which a series of vibrant colour installations would take place across London. The initiative, called “Sneakers Clash”, kicked off on 27 February with the launch of the new Converse All Chuck ’70 and the unveiling of the Wall of Clash. Now their project continues with the Mini Wall of Clash in which students battle it out to create a collaborative work of art in three London locations. Transforming grey London walls with paint across the capital, bringing colour to Bethnal Green, Southwark and Archway, with each taking place over consecutive weekends this March.
