Camberwell College of Arts was delighted that four of our Painting students, along with five students from Wimbledon College of Arts, plus students from around the UK and Belgium, took part in the Hans Brinker Hotel Budget Prize in Amsterdam back in December 2013. The four Camberwell BA Painting students were: Fiona Gillian Eastwood, Clare Hope Holdstock,William Rufus Meredew and Kenneth Stitt. Accompanying the students to the event were Senior College Technicians, Neal Moonstone (Camberwell) and Tim Johnson (Wimbledon). Neal commented:

“The show was a roaring success and our students did us proud with a very professional attitude and practice (there were also many hot debates on painting that went on into the early hours!), raising University of the Arts London’s (UAL) profile across Europe.

The Brinker Trophy is budget in name only, the prize fund is a huge 5,000 euros, the Private View was the biggest and best I have attended in many years, and the hotels generosity is legendary. Looking forward to bringing that prize home to a UAL student next time!”

Kenneth Stitt, Camberwell BA Painting student, said:

“It was great, good opportunity to engage with others from other schools, and a lot of great food!”

Congratulations to everyone who took part, and special thanks to both Tim and Neal. Sounds like a great time was had by everyone involved.
