Congratulations to Camberwell College of Arts BA (Hons) Drawing student Ragna Mouritzen who has been awarded the Danish Embassy Art Prize 2014.

The Embassy Art Prize is an annual art competition for Danish fine art students in the UK. The winner of the competition has the unique opportunity of exhibiting at the Embassy of Denmark in London and, as part of the prize, receives £1000 to support the costs of the exhibition. The aim of the Embassy Art Prize competition is to support and promote aspiring young Danish artists studying in the UK, and the winner of the Embassy Art Prize is selected on advice from an external professional visual art panel. To accompany the show, the winning artist is asked to compose a description of the exhibition. This text is available on display in the exhibition area and is accessible on the Embassy of Denmark website, together with the artist’s CV and photos of the exhibit.

Ragna, who is in her third year of the BA Drawing course at Camberwell, made more than 30 works on paper for the exhibition. The show launched with a Private View on Wednesday 23 April 2014 and will continue until early 2015, viewing is by prior appointment only.

Ragna will also be one of our final year students taking part in this year’s Undergraduate Summer Show 2014, open from 16-21 June 2014 at Camberwell College of Arts.
