  • Student Welfare Mentors
  • Safety

Social Programme

UAL hosts an award-winning Social Programme that runs events and activities in every hall throughout the year.

The events are entirely run by students, for students. They organise a wide range of activities, including movie nights, knitting clubs, gallery visits, cooking competitions, craft nights and fancy dress parties.

There are regular cross-halls events and parties giving you more opportunities to meet people from across UAL - all events are free or very low-cost, so everybody can take part.

Student Welfare Mentors

All halls of residence have their very own dedicated Student Welfare Mentor based at each hall to offer advice and help with anything that has an impact on your life at UAL.

Student Welfare Mentors have up to three weekly drop in sessions. Chat to representatives about anything from settling into hall life, housemate concerns, managing your work, moving away from home to making friends. Please be reassured that everything you discuss will be dealt with confidentially and sensitively.

Our students tell us they feel very safe at the University, and your safety is our top priority. As a result, all our halls of residence have:

  • closed-circuit television (CCTV) inside and outside the building
  • secure entry, for example by fob or card
  • staff available and contactable 24 hours a day
