Every year, the Old Vic runs a major community production managed by its award-winning talent, education and community programme, Old Vic New Voices.

The theatre recruited six Wimbledon BA Theatre Design students to work with theatre designer, Joanna Scotcher, along with large numbers of local residents and community groups. Together, they created a new piece of theatre, PLATFORM, performed in the Old Vic Tunnels under Waterloo station.

“The students who worked on the project were really enthusiastic and threw themselves into every challenge – of which there were many! It was amazing to have so many creative eyes on the aesthetic of the whole production.”

- Alexander Ferris, Senior Manager, Old Vic New Voices

As one of London’s most ambitious community theatre productions, it needed 120 volunteers for 10 performances. Thanks to the project’s success, the Old Vic asked our students to work on their next community production.

If you are interested in working with our students please get in touch.
