Wimbledon's 3D workshops can be used by all of our students. The college has metal, casting and wood workshops. Technicians can support fine art and theatre projects.
In the metal workshops students can work with steel using techniques such as welding, bending, braising, cutting, rolling and lathe work. There is also a foundry allowing students to cast in aluminium and bronze.
Our fine art wood workshop is where students are taught how to make their own canvases. It is equipped with a band saw, belt sander, fret saw, morsa guillotine, pillar drill, radial arm saw, spindle moulder, thickness planer, under pinner-frame making tool and other general tools.
Our theatre and screen wood workshop is where students are taught how to make models and other wooden structures. It is equipped with a band saw, belt sander, bobbin sander, pillar drill, radial arm saw, table saw. Theatre students are also able to use the fine art wood workshop for making larger pieces.
