UAL Policy on Personal Tutoring

The personal tutoring relationship is a very important one for students. It is a personal connection with the University, where encouragement can be offered and difficulties spotted and addressed before they significantly impair a student’s academic progression. Personal tutoring helps to steer a student successfully through their course and improves progression and attainment.

Primary Aims

  • To provide an essential point of contact to support and monitor students’ academic development and progression.
  • An opportunity to speak about and enhance students’ academic experience.

Tutorials may focus on:

  • general academic progression
  • pastoral issues
  • subject specific issues
