How may fashion be ‘designed’ and ‘produced’ for the technically demanding context of digital and ‘real time’ environments?
Digital Design and construction of future fashion/ dress, for commerce, film, games and virtual worlds is an ongoing project arising from an AHRC Innovation Award 2002-03 which included collaboration with fashion designer Shelley Fox, Research Fellow (CSM) and DKNY Professor, Parsons Institute New York and ViconPeak. 2D, 3D Computer Graphic animation tools, motion capture, and body scan data are used as part components of this digital process.
The Centre for IT and Architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture, and the Textiles Future Research Group, Central Saint Martins, College of Art and Design are jointly offering an International PhD Studentship.
TFRC welcomed Rachel Beth (www.rachelbeth.net)- an Artist in Residence at the University of Brighton, Lighthouse Brighton, Furtherfield London as part of the Arts Council England Initiative, commissioned by Distributed South and curated by SCAN and Space Media- as a guest and had the opportunity to follow the development of her research through group presentations, interviews and workshops. |
