Legacy Gifts

Leaving a gift in your Will is a particularly valuable way of supporting the University and its Colleges. All legacy gifts, regardless of their size, will help our talented students, attract the best staff, and provide the specialist spaces and equipment that artistic practice requires. Hear is what two of our legacy supporters have to say:

"I'd like others to experience the opportunity I had valued so highly."

Eleanor Moreton, MA Painting Chelsea College of Art and Design 1999, Legacy Donor

"In 1959 I met my husband Jim, at what was then known as St Martin's School of Art, we were married for 45 years. That would seem reason enough to leave a legacy, but it's a bit more than that. Jim came from an East-end family who had no means to support a student. He won a major grant, worked before and after college hours, graduating with no debts, and the skills and enthusiasm for graphic art that changed his career-path, and mine. What you absorb from a creative art education changes the way you look at life, for the rest of your life. I can not think of a more appropriate 'gift' in his memory than to help another talented student complete their studies."

Jane (Sampson) Knight, Fashion St. Martin's School of Art 1960, Legacy Donor

Making Your Will

As charitable gifts are deducted from the value of your estate before tax liability is calculated, a gift in your Will could reduce the total amount of tax liable on your estate. An existing Will can be amended with a codicil to reflect a change in your wishes. Your solicitor can best advise you how to include University of the Arts London or one if its Colleges in your Will.

Please Contact Us if you would like to receive further information on leaving a gift to the Univeristy or one of its Colleges in your Will. Alternatively you can download our private and confidential Legacy Reply Card to inform us of your intentions.

A gift made to the University or one of its Colleges will be used in accordance with your wishes. If you have a specific interest or purpose in mind, we encourage you to discuss this with us, in order to help us ensure your intentions are realised. We would also be pleased to speak with you about how your support can be acknowledged, for example, by naming a scholarship, an academic post, a facility or a building in your honour, or in honour of someone close to you.

By joining the growing number of alumni and friends who are showing their support by pledging a gift to us in their Will, you will become part of a very special community. If you have included the University or one of its Colleges in your Will, or if you are considering doing so, we would be delighted to hear from you.
