Sir John Tusa
Acting Chairman of the University's Development Council; Chairman of the Court of Governors; former Managing Director of the Barbican from 1995 - 2007. Prior to the Barbican, Sir John enjoyed a distinguished career in broadcasting, as Managing Director of the BBC World Service, as a presenter of Newsnight and as a newsreader on BBC television. A former trustee of the National Portrait Gallery and board member of English National Opera, Sir John is currently Vice Chairman of the British Museum and Chairman of the Wigmore Hall Trust.
Linda K Bennett, OBE
Alumna of Cordwainers at LCF; Honorary Fellow (2004). Linda is founder, owner, designer and CEO of LK Bennett, one of the leading fashion labels in Britain with 50 branches around the country, as well as stores in Paris and Dublin. Linda was the Veuve Clicquot Businesswoman of the Year in 2004.John Booth
Former Chairman of Governors at Byam Shaw School of Art. John is Executive Chairman of Link Brokers and non-executive Chairman of several public and private companies in the technology, media, telecoms and financial services sectors, and is widely involved in venture capital and investment. He is also a trustee of several charities and a member of the Council of Merton College, Oxford.Nigel Carrington
Nigel Carrington is the Rector of University of the Arts London. Before joining the University in September 2008, Nigel's career was in the private sector, including 21 years with Baker & McKenzie, the international law firm, where he was Managing Partner of the London Office and Chairman of the Firm's European Region, and 7 years with the McLaren Group where he was Managing Director and Deputy Chairman. He studied History of Art at the Courtauld Institute between 2005-2007 and holds a number of non-executive positions in the public, private and charitable sectors, including as Chairman of The English Concert, the internationally-renowned chamber orchestra.
Rodney Fitch, CBE PPCSD PPDAD
Alumnus of Central School of Art; former Deputy Chairman of Governors of University of the Arts London since 1990 and a member of the University's Development Council. Rodney is Chairman of Fitch, the design firm he founded in 1972 now owned by WPP. He is Chairman of V&A Enterprises and was previously a trustee of the Victoria & Albert Museum. Rodney is an Honorary Fellow and former Council member of the Royal College of Art, and former President of both the Chartered Society of Designers and of Designers and Art Directors Association. He was awarded a CBE in 1990 for Services to the British design industry.
Clara Freeman, OBE
Deputy Chairman of the Court of Governors and Chairman of the University's Personnel Committee. Clara was formerly Director of Stores and Personnel at Marks and Spencer plc, where she was the first woman appointed to the executive board in the history of the Company. She is currently Deputy Chairman of Roffey Park Management Institute and a member of Council at the Girls Day School Trust. She is an honorary fellow of Somerville College Oxford and was awarded the OBE for services to Women in the Workforce in 2001.
Richard Greer
Head of Investor Relations at WMG Ltd; patron and collector of contemporary art. Richard is a senior banker, and was Head of Research at Commerzbank Securities before setting up his own asset management company in 2004. With his wife Judith, he is a patron of Tate, Artangel and the Whitechapel Gallery.
Deirdre Hopkins JP
Honorary Fellow (2006); alumna of the College of Distributive Trades and former staff of LCF and LCC; trustee of the Rootstein Hopkins Foundation. Deirdre is a leadership donor to LCF and the University, endowing the Chair of Fashion in 2001, and the cross-college Chair of Drawing in 2002. Her late husband, Rick Hopkins, founded the grantmaking Rootstein Hopkins Foundation. The Foundation is a leadership donor to the University, funding a wide range of projects across the Colleges including the Rootstein Hopkins Space at LCF; the refurbishment of the theatre at Wimbledon College of Art and the landscaping and redevelopment of the Parade Ground at Millbank.
Sir Howard Stringer
Honorary Doctor of University of the Arts London (2003). Sir Howard is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sony Corporation since June 2005, the first non-Japanese leader of the company. He remains Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sony Corporation of America, a position he has held since 1998. Previously, Sir Howard spent 30 years at CBS Inc as a journalist, producer and executive. He received a knighthood in 2000 for contributions to worldwide entertainment.Harold Tillman
Alumnus of LCF; leadership donor of MA Scholarships at the College; Chairman of the University's Alumni Board and owner of Jaeger and Allders. Harold is a fashion entrepreneur, who acquired fashion label Jaeger in 2003 and has since devoted himself to revitalising the brand. Harold became Chief Executive of Allders in 2005 after buying the company and the lease of its Croydon flagship store. In 2008 Harold became the new Chairman of the British Fashion Council.
