Rodney Fitch Bursary

The Rodney Fitch Bursary of £3,000 is available to 1 Home student currently enrolled on the MA Industrial Design course at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Rodney Fitch Bursary students must:

  • Be ordinarily resident in the UK (living in or predominantly tied to) the UK for most of the 3 years before your course is due to start
  • Considered a Home student for tuition fee purposes
  • Currently enrolled on the full-time MA Industrial Design course at Central Saint Martins, progressing from Year 1 to Year 2 of the course in September 2021

About

Rodney Arthur Fitch (1938-2014), retail design entrepreneur, studied architecture and building, furniture, interior and theatre design at various London colleges of art and design, including Central Saint Martins.

In 1972 Rodney founded his firm, Fitch and Company Design Consultants, which as Fitch grew to become one of the largest and best-known design brands. During some 40 years of practice, Rodney built an unmatched portfolio of successful projects and connections across public and commercial sectors and geographies.

Rodney had a commitment to education and was influential on advisory and trustee boards including St Martins School of Art and University of the Arts London (formerly The London Institute).

The bursary will be assessed on the basis of financial need and academic merit. It will provide a contribution towards course costs and living expenses for the length of the course.

Applications are welcome from those who are in financial hardship and those who will benefit from postgraduate studies to realise their full potential.

Receiving payment

The bursary will provide a contribution towards living expenses and course costs.

Living expenses and course costs payments will be paid in termly instalments to the award recipient.
