Postgraduate Student Communities of Practice Fund

The University of the Arts London has made available some funds to assist current postgraduate students in organising academic events and cultural interventions which work to bring together different communities within both Postgraduate Taught and Research student bodies at UAL.

Communities of Practice Grants of up to £300 are made available throughout the year for current UAL postgraduate students to apply for, and two £1,000 Grants are available in the month of February for larger scale projects. Larger grant criteria will be made available via the Postgraduate Community weekly newsletter that goes to all student UAL email addresses.

In the past this fund has supported student led cross disciplinary exhibitions, screenings, workshops, performances, publications/zines, salons and symposiums. Each project were requested to create a blog; see the Previously Funded Projects page for links to the individual blog sites of past projects.

The aim of the fund is to bring students from different courses and colleges together to work collaboratively and to experience working with peers from different disciplines.

The postgraduate student organisers/collaborators should be from different colleges and disciplines – a minimum team of 3 - an open call can be made to find collaborators using the Postgraduate Community newsletter facility.

PLEASE NOTE: This fund is not available for projects which are part of a course assessed unit.
