UAL is the perfect place to study Academic English throughout the year. Choose between 15 or 20 hours of study per week.

What time are the classes?

15 hours per week: 9am - 12.20pm or 1.45pm - 5.15pm

Your class may be in the morning or the afternoon depending on your level. You will be given your course timetable on your first day.

How many students in a class?

Average is 10, the maximum is 14.

What is the minimum level of English?

Minimum IELTS score of 5.0 - maximum IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent. If your level is below this, we recommend that you start with a General English course and progress to Academic English once you have reached the required level. You will be provided with an online English test when you book your course.

Academic English 20 English for Communication 

15 hours of Academic English with an extra five hours per week of tuition focused on speaking, pronunciation and cultural English.

Four weeks minimum, 24 weeks maximum length.

Level of English required: IELTS 5.0 – 6.5

15 hours of Academic English with an extra five hours per week of IELTS preparation.

This course can be booked for between 4 and 24 weeks in 4-week blocks
(except for a 2 week block starting 27 March)
